Abstract: During November 1962 a temperature survey at a depth of 1 metre was completed at Hanmer, the results of which were used to locate two drill holes. Subsequent temperature measurements in these showed gradients of 73deg C/km in the first (situated approximately 3/4 mile south of the township on the main road), and 280deg C/km in the second (situated in the Queen Mary Hospital grounds) (auth.)
