Abstract: In this report we tabulate X-ray fluorescence, petrographic modal and ferrous iron analyses of New Zealand rocks made in the course of our scientific and technical work in the last 5 years. Sample preparation and analytical methods are also described. We present whole-rock X-ray fluorescence analyses for the following: North Island metasedimentary rocks from the Torlesse Terrane (n=152), Manaia Hill Group (n=13), Taupo Volcanic Zone basement (n=10), Houhora Complex (n=4), Northland Allochthon (n=3), Murihiku Terrane (n=6), and East Coast late Cretaceous cover strata (n=9); North Island igneous rocks from the Houhora Complex (n=14) and Torlesse Terrane (n=4); South Island metasedimentary rocks and schists from the Otago Schist (n=16), and Greenland and Charleston Groups (n=64); conglomerate clasts from North Island East Coast late Cretaceous cover strata (n=13), Torlesse Terrane (n=21), Whatuwhiwhi formation (n=2) and South Island Pliocene Old Man Group (n=15). We also present petrographic methods for 90 coarse to very fine grained sandstones from the North Island Torlesse Terrane and Manaia Hill Group, and ferrous iron analyses for 25 psammitic and pelitic lithologies from Otago Schist.
