Beavan, R.J. 2004 Kinematics of the New Zealand plate boundary : field report on the 2003 GPS survey of the Central North Island/Taranaki network (CNI2003) . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 2004/05 26 p.

Abstract: During a 12-day period during February 2003 we measured a Global Positioning System (GPS) network through the central North Island including Taranaki. This “CNI2003” campaign was intended to fully repeat the observations made in an earlier February/March 2000 campaign. We succeeded in reoccupying all but one of these earlier GPS sites. For some of the sites this campaign represents a third occupation, as observations were also made by DoSLI in 1996. We also re-observed a few sites of the 1996 DoSLI network in the southern Waikato in order to improve repeat GPS coverage of this region. This report documents the survey, describing the logistics of the campaign, the sites occupied and the data collected. (auth)
