Palmer, N.G. 2004 Kinematics of the New Zealand plate boundary : field report on the 2004 GPS survey of the Raukumara Peninsula network (RAUK2004) . Lower Hutt: Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences. Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences science report 2004/33 28 p.

Abstract: During a 9-day period in March and a 6-day period in April 2004, a team from the Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences (GNS) measured a Global Positioning System (GPS) network through the Raukumara Peninsula/East Cape area. This “RAUK2004” campaign repeated a subset of the observations last made during a campaign in January 2001. It is intended that these observations will be used as part of further investigation into the motion recorded by two continuous GPS stations during October 2002, and to a lesser extent in July 2003, which indicated an aseismic slip event. This report documents the survey, describing the logistics of the campaign, the sites occupied and the data collected. (auth)
