Richardson, G.K. 1977 Lake McKerrow site report (Alpine Fault). Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 46 16 p.

Abstract: Lake McKerrow was selected as the southernmost natural clearing where it was feasible to situate a survey pattern across the Alpine Fault. It was installed in January 1976 and was initially surveyed in September 1976. The site forms part of a developing network throughout New Zealand designed to monitor horizontal and vertical secular earth deformation. Surveys at the site will be carried out at three to five yearly intervals unless abnormal deformation is suspected in which case the interval between surveys would be decreased. (auth)
