Richardson, G.K. 1978 Matakitaki site report (Alpine Fault). Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 58 18 p.
Abstract: The Matakitaki Fault Monitoring Pattern (FMP) is situated in SE Nelson, on the Matakitaki River near Nardoo Creek and is located approximately 45 km from Murchison. The FMP straddles the Alpine Fault and provides convenient monitoring of this section of the fault as well as being part of the network of patterns along the length of the fault. The FMP was installed and initially surveyed during early December 1977. A further survey will be carried out in approximately one year's time and subsequent surveys will be carried out every three to five years. If abnormal deformation is suspected the interval between surveys will be shortened (auth)
