Hull, A.G.; Turnbull, I.M. 1979 Bench mark stability survey, Dunedin-Jackson Bay. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 52 32 p.

Abstract: Part of the Royal Society Earth Deformation Programme has been the establishment of triangulation and precise levelling routes traversing the two main islands of New Zealand. To ensure that earth deformation can be measured reliably it is important that all established reference marks are assessed for their stability, and proposed marks are located in geologically stable foundations. This report assesses the stability of the southern most precise levelling route from Jackson Bay to Dunedin. From Jackson Bay to Lake Hawea new bench marks have been sited and their foundation stability assessed. From Lake Hawea to Dunedin, site stability of existing marks is assessed.
