Abstract: This report presents data collected in March and May 1983 from the initial survey and a resurvey 2 months later of the Lake Rotomahana Strain Monitoring Pattern which straddles the 1886 Tarawera Rift. Unadjusted data from horizontal angle observations and summaries of reduced angles for both surveys are presented. Also presented is some distance data. Results of a strain analysis suggest crustal extension perpendicular to the 1886 Tarawera Rift could be occurring. (auth)
