Abstract: In an earlier report, the writer discussed some preliminary observations regarding the East Cape District. Since that report was written and distributed in April, 1971, another visit was made to the area during the middle of May and the preliminary x-ray analyses of samples collected during both the first and second trips have been completed. The additional field work was considered necessary to evaluate more carefully possible stabilisation devices in the more critical areas, and to examine the erosion scars just after a period of heavy rainfall.
