Abstract: This report deals with the investigation of Fan Alluvium deposits in the Clairn Gully area, located approximately mid-way between the proposed Ohau B and C power stations (Sheet 1). It was thought that the fans of this area could yield a sufficient quantity of suitable impermeable material to provide lining for the Ohau B and C canals as well as core for the Ruataniwha Dam. A previous report EG263 (Read 1976a) dealt with the investigation of fan alluvium deposits at Tomahawk Gully, five kilometers further north. (auth)
