Williams, R.O.; Blick, G.H.; Otway, P.M.; Scott, B.J. 1987 Survey data from horizontal monitoring across the Edgecumbe fault trace, March - June 1987. Lower Hutt: New Zealand Geological Survey. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 116 40 p.

Abstract: Following the Edgecumbe earthquake of 2 March 1987, electronic distance measurements were made at one permanent and two temporary sites to investigate the possibility of continuing ground deformation about the Edgecumbe Fault trace. Horizontal angle observations were made at one time also. The raw distance data are corrected for instrumental and meteorological effects and reduced to common datums. These reduced distances are presented together with directions computed from the horizontal angle observations. The standard errors of the data are assessed and are found to be approximately 1mm +/- 1ppm for most distances and 1'' for the directions, discounting equipment plumbing errors. Gross errors are identified in at least four of the distance measurements. (auth)
