Blick, G.H.; Scott, B.J. 1991 Survey data from the May/June 1990 survey of the south Rotorua network. Lower Hutt: DSIR Geology & Geophysics. New Zealand Geological Survey report EDS 132 41 p.

Abstract: A selected portion of the Department of Survey and Land Information triangulation network immediately south of Rotorua, spanning the Taupo Fault Belt, was surveyed in May/June 1990. The network surveyed consisted of 20 Department of Survey and Land Information trig stations. Survey observations comprised 147 horizontal directions, 91 vertical angles, and 77 distance measurements. The standard errors of the horizontal directions, computed using an assumed observation error of 3.5''/set for direction observations made with the Wild T3 and Kern DKM3 theodolites, and 5.0''/set for direction observations made with a Wild T2, were used to weight the observation. A standard error of 5.0'' was used to weight the vertical angles, and 3mm + 1ppm for the DI20 distance measurements. From a three dimensional least squares adjustment of the data the standard error of unit weight was computed at 0.97 with 223 degrees of freedom indicating that the assumed errors are reasonable. A coefficient of refraction was computed at 0.070 +/- 0.002 (95% confidence limit). (auths)
